The Results section of Rainforest is the "go to" place to view how your tests are running, if they are passing or failing and what and when tests were run. More detailed information is provided as you drill down within the Results section.
- Runs / Drafts Runs page provides a high level over view of the tests
- Run Summary page further breaks down the specific tests for a specific run group (not available for Draft Runs)
- Test Results page are the individual tests with step by step details so you can see the exact details what passed or failed.
Test results are displayed on the Runs page. This is where you will see what tests were actually tested by Rainforest , if the test passed or failed and other information so you can best manage your tests. From here
The page is broken into two sub categories, Runs and Draft Runs.
Remember, a run group is one or more tests that are grouped and run together, a Draft Run is a single test. The page progression for Runs and Draft Runs is slightly different due to how the two are run. Runs are "production" runs against your selected environment. Draft Runs are "prep" runs against a single brower used to ensure the test is written and executed properly before it is used for everyday testing purposes.
Runs are tests that are executed by the crowd with the purpose of testing your platform. Several testers execute the test, full video and logs are available and the outcome, pass or fail is determined based on what the testers find. There is a full historical record of these runs.
Selection of a Run from Runs page will advance you to the Run Summary Page.
The Run Summary Page provides additional details on the selected run. It details what tests in the run passed, what failed, the ability to do failure categorization and rerun the test as well.
Selection of a test from the Run Summary Page advances you directly to the Test Results page, which is the test itself. Here you can see the individual test steps, the status of the last run (pass / fail / abort) and also the history of the last five runs of the test. You may also go directly to the test itself for editing and further review if needed.
Draft Runs pathway
Selection of Run from the Draft Run page will advance you directly to the Test Results page, which is the the test itself. Here you can see the individual test steps, the status of the last run (pass / fail / abort) and also the history of the last five runs of the test. You may also go directly to the test itself for editing and further review if needed.
Draft Runs bypass the Run Summary page entirely as they are always a single test and not a group of tests.
