Here in the My Account section of Settings, we can manage many of the administrative aspects of our own personal account. 

Specifically, you can: 

  • create your own user avatar
  • change your name, email and password
  • manage your email preferences
  • set your time zone preferences
  • enable colorblind mode

To get to the My Accounts page, select the following:

  • Settings (gear on left green navigation)
  • My Account

Create your own user avatar

Your avatar
For many users who work in large or distributed team, it is beneficial to create an avatar that includes your photo. Your avatar will be visible to your teammates on tests you create, tests you edit, and test failures you categorize. By default, we'll use any Gravatar associated with your email address. 

Change your name, email and Password

Your name
You may update your name.  Please note that this should be your professional name or what you are known within your organization.  This name is referenced in emails, reports and also on the individual tests and results.

Your email address
Please note that changing your email address will end your current setting so that you can log back in with your new email address. 

Changing your password
You may change your password on this page as well (please note Password change is lower down on the page).  You must enter your current password and your new one.  ARE THERE ANY RULES - SPECIAL CHARACTERS ETC

Manage email preferences 

View and manage your email notifications via the My Account page. The notification options available are: 

  • When a run has timed out due to a failed webhook
    very self-explanatory, but please note that setting up webhooks is a prerequisite to receiving this email notification. 
  • When a test writing run is updated
    will notify you if there are updates or blockers to your Rainforest Test Designer test writing run. Please note that you must have the Rainforest Test Designer feature enabled to receive this notification, which is a feature upgrade. Please contact our team if you're interested. 
  • When a run errors
    runs can error for many reasons, including insufficient tabular variables, VM compatibility issues, etc. If you have questions as to why a run errored, please contact our support team. 
  • QA visibility report
    receive our weekly QA Visibility Report highlighting your company account's activity and stats over the past week. 
  • When an exploratory run is updated
    please note that you must have our Exploratory testing feature enabled to receive this notification, which is a feature upgrade. Please let our team know if you're interested in Exploratory Testing. 
  • As soon as a run fails
    when a test run fails, you'll receive an email that contains a run summary. 
  • When a test writing rerun is updated
    will notify you if there are updates or blockers to your test rewriting run via our Rainforest Test Designer. Please note that you must have the Rainforest Test Designer feature enabled to receive this notification, which is a feature upgrade. Please contact our team if you're interested. 
  • When a run is completed
    when a test run finishes and the results are ready for viewing, you'll receive an email that contains a run summary. 

NOTE:  Enable email notifications must be checked for any of the above notification to work.  If you do not want to receive any notifications, set Enable email notifications to off (unchecked).

Set your timezone Preferences

Time zone preferences
Please ensure your time zone is correct and change it if it is not. The time zone you select will control the time stamps visible to you throughout the application.   

Enable Colorblind mode

Accessibility
Enable colorblind mode  Rainforest uses colors that will be difficult for those of us that are color blind to differentiate (such as green and red). Please enable this mode to change the color scheme.  This will update for only you and not the entire team.
