Rainforest's Android 6, 7, & 8 VM emulators are now available for you to test your application. These VMs mirror the screen resolution and OS version of the real devices. The testing interface allows you to directly interact with almost all of the functionality of the a real Android 6, 7, & 8 device. 

Common functionality available via the action bar inside the VMs:

  • Power Button (Ctrl+P) 
  • Volume Up (Ctrl+=) 
  • Volume Down (Ctrl+-) 
  • Rotate Left (Ctrl+Left) 
  • Rotate Right (Ctrl+Right) 
  • Camera (Ctrl+S) 
  • Zoom (Ctrl+Z) 
  • Back (Ctrl+Backspace) 
  • Home (Ctrl+H) 
  • Overview (Ctrl+O) 
  • More 

Note: if you accidentally minimize or close the action bar you can click on Alt+Tab to bring it back.

Setting up GPS Coordinates 

In order to test the GPS functionality on the Android VMs locate the action bar to the next to the emulator. Select the more button (‘…’) the last option on the action bar. Next, select the ‘Location’ tab and then on the right side of the page input the coordinates of your desired location and hit send.
