How to Install the CLI

Learn the ways you can install our command line interface on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

We support Mac, Windows, and Linux. The project behind the CLI is open source. For more information, visit Github. All CLI binaries are available on our downloads page.

Homebrew for Mac

If you use Homebrew, you can run the following command.

brew install rainforestapp/public/rainforest-cli

Mac

If you don’t use Homebrew, you can download and install the CLI binary directly.

curl -O https://bin.equinox.io/c/htRtQZagtfg/rainforest-cli-stable-darwin-amd64.zip
unzip rainforest-cli-stable-darwin-amd64.zip -d /usr/local/bin

Windows

Download the zipped binary for your system.

Linux

Download and install the binary directly.

curl -O https://bin.equinox.io/c/htRtQZagtfg/rainforest-cli-stable-linux-amd64.tgz
tar -xzf rainforest-cli-stable-linux-amd64.tgz
mv rainforest /usr/local/bin
chmod +x /usr/local/bin/rainforest
rm rainforest-cli-stable-linux-amd64.tgz
